Smart.

Smart Roadster Posted by Hello
Yes this is my favourite car. I'd like it yellow with the side bar in black. Incidentally, my parents just decided to buy a Pajero Mini, in yellow. Which is great, because they were discussing buying some really ugly cars before that, like the Hyundai Matrix. Although they also really wanted a Jeep Wrangler. I can't wait to get a smart roadster. Wonder if they will ever make it to this tiny island, full of petrol chugging SUVs. Doesn't make any sense at all. No space, tiny parking lots like those at Bras Brasah and the cars just get bigger...

2046

Wong Kar Wai's latest masterpiece is just that, a masterpiece. Every shot, a beautiful assault on my eyes. I loved how it was really a wide format film. This just has to be appreciated in a cinema and not on a television. Every frame was half filled or half blur, with the other side focusing on an object, space or character. Lately, his films tend to linger a little longer, trailing cigarette smoke from In the Mood for Love is semi-replicated here. The lighting is just so smoky and indecent, kinda like Zhang Ziyi, whom Wenhui hates with a vengeance. Tony was the man again, suave, cool, funny...
Time is of the essence.

Poolside

Have I mentioned that we seem to be playing better nowadays? Although I no longer hold any incredibly high hopes that the majority of Liverpool fans do (champions league, premiership title) , I still cringe every time they play, because they have been so bad in recent history.
But Luis Garcia looks like a clever, skillful, technical player who can create havoc for opposition teams. Xabi Alonso looks like a class act. Plus Wenhui thinks he's cute. Gerrard's coming back from injury soon I hope and then we'll see...

From Russia With Love

Lomo Compact Automat Posted by Hello

My holy grail of cameradom. For now at least. Because it will cost me about 150-200 sing to get it to my doorstep in a nice bubble wrapped package with love from Russia. My cousin has one. I want this. It WILL be my christmas present to myself this year.

Not the dead princess.

This baby is the queen of toy cameras. I first found out about it online and was drawn to the pictures that it could take. Have wanted one for a long time now. Only thing is I already have a Holga, and I haven't even used it yet! Haha! Mainly because 120 film isn't easy to come by in Singapore. Bought a Holga for Wenhui and she used it like immediately! Sometimes I wish I was like her. Oh yeah, she has one excellent Holga shot! Amazing! Beautiful!

My Next Digital?

Sony DSC-W1 Posted by Hello
In a perfect world, my Canon Powershot G3 would be small. Since it isn't, I have to accept that a clunky, ugly camera is fair exchange for superb function. But honestly, I'd rather have this minute little number from Sony. It's small, black and still packs a punch with 5 megapixels and a Carl Zeiss lens.

Folding Polaroid!

Polaroid SX-70 Posted by Hello
This used to represent some sort of defining moment in camera cool for me. It was like some kind of old, funky, retrolicious camera that I dreamt of when I was young. Then I saw it in a film (again). The movie in question was Crazy/Beautiful, starring Kirsten Dunst, who comes in second in the list of things worth looking at in the show.
The sexy SX-70 was numero uno of course. Hers was white, the same one I want!

Minimalist Russian

Zorki 10 Posted by Hello

I first saw this camera on Alfred's Camera Page, which happens to be a pretty cool website. Anway, its a really cool looking Russian camera with such a clean aesthetic. I fell in love with it right away. So I tried to find one on ebay, which I did. Only thing was it cost about 20 pounds and another 10+ to ship, almost 80 or 90 sing... Sigh.
Maybe I should buy it anyway! Cos its the only one I saw, plus the seller said it still worked. Sigh.

Camera Crazy!

Argus C-3 Posted by Hello
Polly Perkins' camera in the film Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow! Incidentally, I watched this with my classmates and had loads of fun, Only to infuriate Wenhui, cos apparently, I promised to watch with her beforehand. So in the end, I watched it twice and had fun anyway! By the way, her lenscap was not on at the end of the film.
This camera just looked so beautiful in the film, and if there's any kind of American aesthetic I'm into, it would be the film's 1930s, Gotham City, streamlining, sci-fi fantasy look. Because of how Polly's Argus was such a subject in the film as it was a character in itself, it revived my lust for all sorts of cameras and also an excuse to blog again. (with prompting from Wenhui)
