Local Flavour

I remember as a kid, someone told me this joke about an Indian man saying something to a Chinese guy who interpreted it as "don't take/hold the round one" "yuan de bu neng na". Can't remember the exact joke. But I thought its such a funny stereotype and wouldn't it be great if you had this fat Indian guy with glasses, a broad grin and a bushy moustache with those words in Chinese font in a speech bubble.
Well anyway that's what I thought last night and I'm gonna make that into a tee-shirt one day. I expanded on that idea and decided that I'd make a whole range of shirts dealing with Singaporean stereotypes from people to food, education to lifestyle. Then when I've got enough designs, I would be able to start a shirt business and trump all those spastic "Singapore is a FINE city" shirts.
Also coming up: an entire comic book featuring the adventures of Yuandebunengna Man TM and his sidekick Specky Boy TM going against his arch nemesis Evil Bus Auntie TM.
Yuandebunengna Man TM sees the injustice of Evil Bus Auntie TM pushing and shoving her way to a seat even though there are plenty available. He reaches into his stomach pouch, ala Doraemon and pulls out an Egg And Cheese Prata TM which lands on Evil Bus Auntie's TM face. She shrieks in horror and begins her lengthy nagging in Cantonese TM, at which point Specky Boy TM takes out his Translator PDA TM from The Oversized Pushcart That Is His Schoolbag TM and turns Evil Bus Auntie's TM foul words into government approved, censorship board passed niceties.
Watch out for future episodes involving Mat Rocker Wannabe TM and Mina-San TM as well Ang Moh Man TM, The Insurance Agent TM, Chain Smoking Char Kway Teow Guy TM, The Taxi Driver TM and many more...
